Master of Nursing Science also known as MSc Nursing is a full-time Two year postgraduate programme in nursing and clinical speciality/practise. The syllabus is designed to train and educate nurses with higher advanced knowledge in the field medical treatment. The curriculum teaches the nurses about research & statistics, paediatric nursing, cardio logical care, surgical nursing and many more.
The students who wish to pursue M.Sc Nursing should have completed their Bachelor in Nursing or Post Basic BSc Nursing with a minimum of 55% marks. The students who have completed Post Basic Nursing would require to furnish work experience of one year at the time of admission for MSc Nursing.
The course admission is purely on scores of entrance exams and merit. On the completion of this programme the students are recruited world-wide and get the best career options as nursing in charge, supervisor, executive, nurse educator, paramedic nurse, clinical nurse manager, etc.
BSc Nursing/ BSc (Hons) Nursing/ Post Basic BSc Nursing with 55% minimum marks from any institute recognised by the Indian Nursing Council or equivalent.
There is a 5% relaxation for ST/SC candidates for admission.
Candidate should be a registered nurse.
Candidate should have had good work experience as a nurse of minimum 1 year.
Students shall have university examination at the end of each year. Minimum pass marks shall be 50% in each of the theory and practical separately.
Class tests will be conducted periodically to evaluate the student’s performance in each subject. The average marks will be sent to the university as internal assessment, for both theory and practical.
A model exam will be conducted before the university examination.
Carry over system: The benefit of carry over system is extended to the students of Post Basic B. Sc Nursing course. A candidate is permitted to carryover the main subjects in each year that is for first year 4 subjects out of 8 subjects.
